Announcements:
* Argumentative Essay Final Draft is now due Tuesday April 3rd.
* Next week, students will begin writing their scholarship essays.

U.S. History/ Le Francois
In class today, the students were given the outline to be used in their 50's TV projects. They broke into groups of 4 or 5, chose an ethnic group to base their show on, and then chose their parts. The project will be worked on next week and presented on Friday, April 6th.

In class today, students watched a video titled, "Plastic Paradise."

Announcement:
The end of year, ERWC class overnight backpack trip has been rescheduled to the weekend of Fri-Sat, April 27-28, it may change to two nights.  It is moving from Death Valley (the temps continue to rise there) to the back country of Big Pine.
In class today, Ms Miller conferencing with individual students in regard to the progress of their Argumentative Essays.  A reminder that the essay MUST be a minimum of 3 pages long and that does not include the works cited page.
 * The Argumentative Essay Final Draft is DUE TOMORROW, FRIDAY!

There was a sub in class today so the students were shown another episode of a  50's TV series in preparation for their upcoming TV show assignment.

In class today we did the post lab questions from the, "8.2 Falling 4 Meters", lab. We then finished the backside of a worksheet titled,
"Speed and Distance."

In class today the students continued working in the Post War 1950's packet, then watched some episodic TV from the 1950's. They will begin a 50's TV show project on Friday.

Today the students broke into groups and began a lab titled,"Time to Fall 2 Meters."

Argumentative Essay Final Draft is DUE THIS FRIDAY!
The Rough Draft MUST be a minimum of 3 pages long, Ms Miller expects more than that. 
REMINDERS: If needed for referencing, ERWC Google Classroom has postings for "Works Cited" instructions on Feb 20th and a Works Cited resource "Citation Machine" on March 20th.

 In class today the students continued to work in the, Post War 1950's, packet and watched an episode of Leave it to Beaver.  They will be making a video of a 50's TV show in an upcoming assignment.

In class to day we had a sub, and the class was given a worksheet to do on Motion, Forces and Acceleration.

Announcements:
*  Students who neglected to submit the assigned "Argumentative Essay" work this past Friday by midnight, will see it reflected by 20 points less on their grade for this assignment.
*  Students with late assignments MUST submit the Rough Draft by midnight TONIGHT to receive 30 points possible and it needs to be submitted in Google Classroom.
*  ASAP-The outline must be turned in!
*  The decision was made by majority student vote, to take the overnight ERWC class trip to Death Valley on Friday-Saturday, April 13-14.
 
HISTORY
U.S. History/ Le Francois:  In class today, Ms. LeFrancois went over the latest project with each group of students from the class separately. Some of the group were given until Friday to make changes and resubmit their projects.
They also did the 3rd page in the "Eisenhower 1950" note packet.

A reminder: The Argumentative Essay -
Outline, Works Cited and Rough Draft are due today.  Although the rough draft is not required to be printed out, it is REQUIRED to be submitted by midnight TODAY, to Ms Miller.

In class today the student finished page two in their note packet. For homework they were asked to add their questions and summary to the page.

In class today the students worked on graphing speed/distance and velocity,
and then worked on writing out the mathematical equations.

Annotated articles were due today and checked for completion, the assignment is worth 30 points.
Students are expected to have their thesis statement written and checked by Ms Miller before the end of class time, today.
Students received the Argumentative Essay outline in class today.  Outline, Rough Draft and Works Cited are due this Friday, Mar 23 by midnight.
  * ANNOUNCEMENT: If students find that the articles they have do NOT support their argument, they need to go back online to research more and find articles that DO support the argument.

 In class today the students started a new packet entitled, "Eisenhower 1950 Notes." The first page was filled out in class and the students were supposed to write there questions and summary on the page for homework.

Ms Miller has added a new expectation to the Argumentative Essay timeline:
The thesis statement is due Wednesday March 21st, by the end of the class period.  Thesis statement is worth 10 points.
Reminders:
  Annotated articles will be checked for a grade tomorrow.  This assignment is worth 30 points. 
  The Argumentative Essay Rough draft is due on Friday March 23rd by midnight.  The outline is worth 30 points and the Rough Draft, including Works Cited is worth 50 points.
 
HISTORY
     U.S. History/ Le Francois: In class today, the students did their presentations on the Cold war. Each student presented 3 topics using with their group. 
 
SCIENCE
Physical Science/ Roll: The students did an in class assignment today with groups of three graphing position verses time for 12 seconds. They then walked out the motions on a timeline in the classroom.

Ms Miller recorded and issued 20 points to students for completed HW due today (printed research articles due at the onset of class today).
In class today, students reading through and annotating (highlighting, underlining, brackets and defining in your words) the articles submitted as HW.

U.S. History : Grade cut-off for late/ missing/ absent work 3/23. Due Friday!!
Last day to finish Cold War papers. Berlin air lift/ Cold war mapping. Presentations begin tomorrow.

From the timeline:
Students expected to submit printed articles at the beginning of class on Monday, March 19th.  These articles must be approved by Ms. Miller before printing.  Copy and paste the TEXT only, and paste all four articles into ONE Google doc, then print.  Be sure that the articles chosen, DO support your side of the argument.  Students may share the Google doc with Ms Miller and she will print them.
Thesis statement will be due at the end of the period on Monday as well.
  * Ms Miller has posted this info in ERWC Google Classroom.

In class, reviewing the Op - Ed article, "Jim Crow Policing," what is the thesis?  *  * New Writing task: Students will be writing about a controversial topic.  
In class, students picked 5 topics that they are interested in, what they want to learn more about.  They MUST research the 5 topics, at least 2-3 sentences per each topic chosen.  This assignment is due tomorrow.  
After researching each topic, students will decide on one to write about.

In class, review and note taking the Op - Ed "Jim Crow Policing."  Students given in class time to complete this assignment.  If not finished in class, it's tonight's HW.
HW: This article MUST be read and annotated for tomorrow (underlined, highlighted, brackets, and defined in your own words).

U.S. History/ Le Francois
Today in class the student broke into groups and began the Cold War Project. They will be doing research based on the sections of the project they chose for themselves, and will either write a paper, do a multi-media presentation, or present a timeline with maps and photos. This group project should be worked on in and out of class until completed. Project due Friday. Presentations begin on Monday. Ms. Le Francois suggested each group open and share a Google doc for their work on this project
