In class today, students working on their "Good Food/Bad Food" outline for the upcoming essay assignment.  This outline is due tomorrow! 
  * When students are finished with the outline in class today, there is an extra credit assignment available to do.
 
HISTORY
U.S. History/ Le Francois... In class today the students watched video's about Millitary and employment segregation during WW11,and then were asked to research, Pittsburg Courier, and the Double V Campaign. (See google classroom for complete explanation and assignment.) For Homework: study for WW11 Europe quiz.
 
SCIENCE
Physical Science/ Roll  (3rd and 6th) 
     In 3rd period class today the students finished the post lab work sheet titled, 'Physical World Lab/ Rates of Reaction.'' We posted all the data from the lab onto graphs. If not finished in class, it is homework and due tomorrow. 
     In 6th period, we worked from the textbook and answered questions in a packet titled, "Dissolving and Solubility".

" Fed Up Documentary" discussion questions, it's more than calorie intake, it's about WHAT we're putting in our bodies.
Students expected to complete the documentary questions.  Students completed this assignment in class today, if not done, finish as HW. Be prepared to use for class discussion tomorrow.
HW: Read the nutrition labels from what you're eating.

Students received recent assignments handed back to them.  Ms.Miller reminded students that they were graded according to the expected assigned work.  If asked for a complete full page of writing and students submitted less, they were graded accordingly.
In class, viewed "Fed Up Documentary":  Followed by Fishbowl discussion, note taking and worksheet questions to be answered.
HW: This weekend, really THINK about WHAT you're putting in your body.

In class, the students continued to work in the World War Two Pacific Notes worksheet. They also did 3 more from the Power of Persuasion propaganda website.
 Also, the  US history World War II reading packet questions are due in the morning. It's a huge assignment.  Worth many points.

In class today, Share Rhetorical Précis and answer questions about Bittman's rhetorical appeals, with your elbow partner.  
Complete Activity 13: Thinking Critically; answering each of the 3 questions in Group #1, 2, and 3.  This assignment is worth 30 points and due at the end of class today.
HW: Posted in Goggle classroom: Read and annotate Brody's "Attacking the Obesity Epidemic by First Figuring Out Its Cause," considering the CONTENT of the article, and the author's PURPOSE.

In class today the students completed the 2nd page in the, World War Two Pacific Notes, worksheet. They were then directed to the, "Powers of Persuasion" website where they were asked to chose and complete 3 of the propaganda posters.
For Homework they need to complete page 6 in the, "World War Two Reading Packet." For Homework tomorrow they complete page 7. The completed packet will be collected on Thurs.
