In class requirements today:
1.  Peer editing - follow directions on "Peer Edit" sheet.  
2.  If students answered "no" to any questions, make sure to provide an explanation!

4.  RESUBMIT on Google Classroom.
  * In total, today's assignment is worth 90 points.

In class today the students finished their, "Prom Night in Mississippi" writing, and worked on missing assignments. They also were told to study for their final.
 
SCIENCE
Physical Science/ Roll
In class today we are starting a new unit on Nuclear energy. Ms. Roll passed out a chapter 7 pretest on Chapter 7 titled, "Nuclear Changes."

2.  DO NOT forget to bring a printed copy of your Draft to class on Monday.
Reminders:
* Your essay MUST be submitted through ERWC Google Classroom, remember to include Works Cited (Citation Machine.net).
* Again, you must bring a printed copy of your essay on Monday.  Students will be peer editing and making revisions on Monday.  Ms Miller has explained that the total points possible for Monday's assignments is 90 points.  Even if you're absent, you will NOT be eligible for the full 90 points, you MUST submit your assignments in a timely manner, when due.

1.  The outline for this research essay was due at the beginning of the hour today!
2.  The Rough Draft is due at the end of the hour tomorrow.
REMINDERS:  
 * Per Ms Miller's instructions, students are expected to use the MLA format, and include a Works Cited page.
 * Your analysis needs to be at least 4-5 sentences long, per each piece of evidence. Students are expected to add more to the analysis on their Rough Draft, as compared to what was written in their outlines.  You must include your own logic, or in other words, take it a step further, think on a deeper level and use your own words to explain your argument. 
 * With in mind the analysis needs to be a minimum of 4-5 sentences long per each piece of evidence, Ms Miller expects at least 5 pages of work in the MLA format.

1. The essay outline is due tomorrow at the beginning of the period!  This part of the assignment is worth 30 points.
2.  The Rough Draft is due at the end of the period on Wednesday, this week.  Printed copy is due on Monday, May 21st.
  Reminder:   The timeline dates are NON negotiable!  Every day your set assignments are late, it is 10 points less.

In class today the student were asked to do the Google classroom assignment called, "The Great Society." There was a sub in class.

In class today we over the answers on the Chapter 9 quiz, and did a few #3 and #4 on the Calculating Efficiency worksheet. Students were asked to organize notes for open book TEST tomorrow.

In class today the students read an article called, "A Tale of Two schools." They were then asked to choose one of two assignments on a handout Ms. LeFrancois gave them, and finish it in class.

Students received a study packet that they will be working on through next week.

In class today the students did catch-up work for Chapter 9 and finished a Chapter 9 review. Test on Tues.

Students received a Final Research Essay Timeline in class today.  Ms Miller has made it very clear that the dates on this timeline WILL NOT change for this essay assignment.  Students will lose 10 points automatically EVERY day that assignments are late.
HW: Students are expected to check the ERWC Google Classroom website on a regular basis to determine if Ms Miller has posted pertinent class/assignment information.
 * A reminder: Three printed articles, read and annotated are due tomorrow!

HW: read and annotate through page 31 in Lord of the Flies and be prepared for quiz and class discussion.

In class today, the students presented their Civil War Tree projects to Ms. Le Francois, and then they went over the Google classroom assignments that were posted. All missing Google Classroom assignments are due by Friday.

In class today the students were give a Chapter 9 quiz. They are to do it in class. She wants to know how much of the information they understand based on the equations they've been taught in class.

Students each given a 3 x 5 index card and instructed to write a researchable question on one side and on the other side, to write 5 potential topics for their body paragraphs.  This in class assignment is due at the end of class today!
Students began research in class today for the upcoming writing assignment and will be following ALL of the guidelines learned and are expected to utilize the skills acquired in this ERWC class, for this prompt.
HW: Students are expected to have three articles printed to bring to class this Friday to read and annotate. (20 points)

U.S. History/ Le Francois
In class today the students worked on an assignment called, "American Indian Movement, AIM." It is about the Native American civil rights movement that took place between 1968 and 1978.
 
Physical Science/ Roll
In class today we continued working on the Pulley Lab, recording the data on the note sheet.

In class today the student were put into groups of 4 to start om a project called, "The Civil Rights Outcome tree." The assignment today was to get the tree sketched on Paper with the Root words, Trunk words, and branch words ironed out.
 
SCIENCE
Physical Science/ Roll
In class today the students did a lab titled, "The Pulley Lab."
They measured the force needed to move a weighted object 12 inches using different systems of arranged Pulleys. The input force results were then charted on the lab worksheet. This lab will be continued and graphed tomorrow.

In class today the students watched a documentary film called, "Viva la Causa," about migrant workers and their rights. They then were asked to independently do the assignment in Google classroom associated with the film.

Students helping with the organization of returning backpacks, sleeping bags/pads to the rightful staff members who kindly lent supplies to the ERWC students for their overnight trip.

In class today the students worked on their Tombstone assignments. This is the last day they will have time to work on them in class. They are due on Friday.

In class today, the students are doing a lab titled, "Your Power."
Yesterday in class we finished the Simple Machines Packet, and Ms Roll passed out a list of Spring Snarl Seminars the students could Attend for extra credit. They start May 1st, through June 5th.
